Tempest Numerical Weather Prediction Capability

WeatherFlow provides a comprehensive numerical weather prediction (NWP) capability, drawing from our own in-house modeling suite as well as from the best NOAA, NCAR and others have to offer. As federal computational resources have grown, the National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP1) modeling strategies have evolved, resulting in more frequent forecast runs over larger regions and at higher resolutions. WeatherFlow continuously adapts to these trends by bringing the best of what is produced by NCEP to users’ fingertips, as well as evolving our in-house modeling efforts to focus on hyper-local now-casting and forecasting.

WeatherFlow runs the industry standard Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model along with pre and post processing codes to provide a flexible, relocatable, state-of-the-art modeling solution. WeatherFlow’s propriety observational networks set our forecasts apart. We have developed algorithms that ingest data that only we have access to, producing proprietary products that our customers can view through our custom user interfaces and mobile apps. WeatherFlow operates it modeling suite in the Amazon Cloud giving us unlimited capabilities to solve any forecasting problem.

1NCEP is the branch of NOAA that supplies all operational forecasts to the National Weather Service (NWS) and the National Hurricane Center (NHC) as well as other federal agencies.
