Bolton, MA – WeatherFlow sensor maintenance technicians recently made the trip to south Texas to install new weather stations in locations where data is sorely lacking. First, the team installed a new weather station in the open waters of Galveston Bay, just west of the main shipping channel that cuts through the middle of the bay. This weather station will undoubtedly provide vital information to researchers and the shipping industry alike. The team then traveled to Matagorda Bay, situated about halfway between Galveston and Corpus Christi where Texas’s Colorado River meets the Gulf of Mexico. This remote area was previously devoid of coastal atmospheric data and the new weather station there will fill that need.
