Bolton, MA – For many years WeatherFlow has operated a number of weather stations on the Canadian side of the Great Lakes. This includes a number of weather stations along Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, and Lake St. Clair. However, the number of weather stations on the U.S. side of the Great Lakes had been comparatively few. Therefore, WeatherFlow has recently given more focus to adding to its network across the U.S. side of the region. In May, WeatherFlow technicians completed a trip to Ohio and Michigan, installing three new weather stations.
The new station at Vermilion, OH is WeatherFlow’s first along Ohio waters and will provide valuable data to the community’s countless sailors and boaters.
Since the spring of 2014, WeatherFlow has partnered with Limnotech to provide seasonal data to two of its premium Lake Michigan buoys. But the installation of the new weather station at Leland, MI (pictured to the left) was WeatherFlow’s first Lake Michigan station.
Another new station was installed near Detroit, MI at the headwaters of the Detroit River that flows from Lake St. Clair to Lake Erie. The installation of this station at Peche Island Light marked the fifth WeatherFlow station (see below) for Lake St. Clair, which now enjoys robust data coverage.
