Bolton, MA – Throughout the first half of 2017, WeatherFlow has continued to add to its weather station network. This spring, three new weather stations were installed across the Great Lakes, including St. Joseph Light, Muskegon Breakwater Light, and Tawas Point Light. The addition of these weather stations provides reliable data at key points along Lakes Michigan and Huron. In fact, the addition of the St. Joseph Light weather station was greeted with excitement as a weather station, which has formerly existed on the north pier light, had been decommissioned several years ago. In early summer, additional weather stations were installed on the Jacksonville Beach Pier, in Florida, as well as at Ludlam Bay and Barnegat Inlet, in New Jersey.
These new locations will provide valuable data to the United States Coast Guard, National Weather Service, and other researchers. Data is also available in near real-time for the public, such as boaters, beach goers, and water sports enthusiasts.
WeatherFlow continues to look for data gaps and seeks to fill them. Learn more about our weather networks or Contact Us.
