After many years of being an avid SailFlow user, Chelsea joined WeatherFlow-Tempest’s forecast team in February 2020. Chelsea holds a B.S. in Meteorology from University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science and resides in southeast Florida.
Before joining WeatherFlow-Tempest, Chelsea worked for some seven years with mariners ranging from offshore oil and gas companies to retired cruisers leisurely sailing around the world to high-performance racing teams including, most notably, the US Olympic Sailing Team.
This Florida native’s interest for marine weather forecasting is closely related to her lifelong passing for sailing. As a seasoned sailor, Chelsea has completed a trans-Pacific sail and raced in various distance and day races. Being on the water so often herself, Chelsea understands the importance of not just forecasting the weather, but educating mariners about how weather phenomena works, how to capitalize on it, as well as the urgency of protecting our environment and oceans. Look out for her posts on the WeatherFlow-Tempest Blog!
