Justin Hopkins joined the WeatherFlow-Tempest forecast team in March of 2023. As a Virginia native, Justin’s fascination with unpredictable Virginia weather led him to have a passion for meteorology from a young age. Attending an NWS Spotter training only further cemented his love of weather. Consequently, he went on to attend George Mason University where, in 2022, he received a B.S. in Atmospheric Science, with a focus on meteorology. While at GMU, Justin was a member of the weather club and volunteered at the local National Weather Service forecast office.
When not studying the weather, Justin, who always seeks to show kindness to others, also finds time to help mentor young students and volunteer in his community. He also loves to spend time with family and friends. As an exercise enthusiast, Justin enjoys going outdoors to go for a run and especially loves riding his bike along local trails. And he occasionally finds time to fish the local waters near the Chesapeake.
