Prior to joining the WeatherFlow-Tempest team in the fall of 2014, Kerry Anderson had received her B.S. in Meteorology from University of Utah and had gone on to spend several years as a broadcast meteorologist on the lake-effect snow prone shores of Lake Ontario in upstate New York. Kerry’s family later relocated to sunny southern California where her meteorology career was put on pause while she focused on raising her children. Her love of meteorology, though, led her to pursue further education and just prior to joining WeatherFlow-Tempest she received an M.S. in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University, having focused extensively on understanding the development and evolution of southern California’s coastal eddies.
When not forecasting, Kerry also serves as an Adjunct Instructor for Brigham Young University Idaho as well as an instructor for American Military University (APUS/AMU), educating students on the principles of meteorology.
When not working, Kerry, who was born in England and raised in Australia, now enjoys visiting her family who are scattered across the United States and Australia as well as ocean kayaking along southern California’s Los Angeles and Ventura County beaches.
